Cyber Essentials Plus is a UK government scheme that provides a higher level of assurance than basic Cyber Essentials by including a hands-on technical audit of an organisation's IT systems. The audit verifies that five key security controls are implemented and effective: firewalls, secure configuration, access control, malware protection, and security update management.
What does Cyber Essentials Plus entail?
An independent, IASME-accredited auditor conducts an in-depth technical audit.
Scope of the audit:
Internal and external scans: Testing your network and computers for vulnerabilities.
User device testing: A sample of user devices is tested to confirm they are configured correctly and free of malware.
Internet gateways and servers: All internet gateways and servers with public-facing services are audited.
MFA verification: Evidence of multi-factor authentication on cloud services is confirmed.
